life-is-hard last-year

Sometimes all I need to motivate myself is the thought of what it would be like if in a year from now I was in exactly the same position financially, physically, mentally, travel wise, career wise and in terms of the quality of my family life that I’m in right now.

Think about this for a minute. If you could wave a magic wand and go back in time and speak to yourself a year ago, what would you tell yourself about the key areas of your life now?
If the answers are different to what you actually did in the last year, then what are you going to tell yourself to do over the next twelve months that are different to what you’ve done in the last twelve?

We often take the limits of our beliefs to be the limits of our world. The life you are leading at the moment doesn’t have to represent your future. Your negative thoughts and beliefs about what you are capable of are possibly holding you back. We all tend to view the world not as it is but as we are! Once you truly understand this you can unshackle yourself from your limiting thoughts and achieve anything.

sales Encourage your people to come and speak to you even when things are not going well with them, this will foster trust in them and show that you have their best interests at heart as well as the businesses. If your people fear you they will never give you that extra discretionary effort.

delegation When it comes to success in your business, at work or in your social life having a high IQ or lots of letters after your name will count for nothing if your attitude isn't right. Irrespective of the situation you can choose to have a positive attitude towards it. You must adopt a winning mentality that will drive you through all the challenges that you will inevitably face in life and work. How is your attitude towards the 'little' things in life like the weather, being stuck in traffic, forgetting something like a wallet at home or missing a bus or train? If you regularly get upset about the small things in life you're conditioning yourself to act a certain way when faced with problems. Change your attitude and you will definitely change your results.

simple culture

The culture of a business can mean the difference between it ‘doing okay’ and it achieving awesome results! The problem I’ve found is that often owners/leaders try to force through their ideas without any explanation and wonder why their people aren’t jumping on board with the same enthusiasm that they have.

Changing a business’ culture, especially if it’s been running for many years, isn’t an overnight thing. Firstly, it’s important to get the perspective of your senior people and involve them in all the planning. Speak to your employees who are already demonstrating the right behaviours and find out what ideas they have in terms of delivery and execution.
The more you include your work force, the more you’ll make it an good place to work. Rather than just rushing in and going for the jugular with your bold ideas, this way will make the overall experience of change, a lot less uncomfortable for everyone concerned.
